My story

​My name is Catherine Barrett and I discovered the power of Gratitude in 2014. I’d been through a series of major life changes followed by a bout of depression and anxiety. Out the 'other side' I had a wonderful life – but I couldn’t feel it.

I read something about the power of Gratitude and decided I'd try to Make Gratitude My Attitude. I committed to posting something I was grateful for on my Facebook page every day for 21 days. I posted at the same time every evening - to help form a new habit. During the day I would search for something to post about and after a week something shifted – I stopped looking for something to post about and started to see Gratitude everywhere. By the time I got to 21 days I was hooked. I kept the practice going for a year - and with the exception of a couple of breaks have kept a daily practice going.

What has changed for me is that I have started seeing Gratitude everywhere. I feel like I have rewired my brain. I feel more positive about my life. When I have had breaks from the practice I have found myself missing the effects of it. I have now pledged to a daily gratitude practice for the rest of my life. In 2018 I set up this webpage to help build gratitude in the world.
